Optonautics - The Spirit of Deep Research

Relentless Explorers, our ancestors wandered to populate the terrestrial globe. Today we deliberately maintain  various outposts in inhospitable environments, and even inhabit an orbiting space station. Ever curious, we've photographed the shadow of an atom, and we've managed to collect stunning imagery of Pluto yet, somehow, we still have strangely little exposure to Earth’s deep ocean habitat and the ancient creatures who dwell there, only a few kilometers away.

It's a humbling fact of our time, that after countless millennia of dependence on the oceans, we remain confounded by a technical challenge so persistently daunting.
